Sergio Garcia heeft bij de Grote Prijs van Valencia in de Moto3 zijn 1ste race gewonnen. De 16-jarige Spanjaard bleef de Italiaan Andrea Migno maar net voor. Het verschil was uiteindelijk 0,005 seconden.
Zijn 16-jarige landgenoot Xavier Artigas, debutant in de Moto3-race in Valencia, eindigde als 3e en vierde dat met een paar vette stunts.

Wedstrijd stilgelegd na crash
De laatste race van het seizoen in de Moto3 moest worden herstart nadat de wedstrijd na een massale crash was stilgelegd. Al vroeg in de race gingen meerdere coureurs hard onderuit in bocht 11. Wereldkampioen Lorenzo Dalla Porta uit Italië was een van de pechvogels. De Italiaan Dennis Foggia moest na die crash naar het ziekenhuis.

Ook de Spanjaard Jaume Masia moest naar het ziekenhuis worden gebracht na een crash iets eerder in de race.

Na de herstart ontstond een spannende race, waarin Artigas in zijn eerste race brutaal de leiding nam.

Na een stuurfout met nog iets meer dan 2 ronden te gaan, verloor de Spaanse ‘rookie’ de koppositie aan Migno. De Italiaan zag 2 ronden voor het einde Garcia binnendoor komen. Artigas reed nog naar de 3e plaats.
