Ajax Onder 19 mag, dankzij het halen van de Champions League van de hoofdmacht, voor de 6e achtereenvolgende keer naar de Youth League. Omdat 'het grote Ajax' in Kiev de Champions League haalde, mag het jeugdelftal onder leiding van trainer John Heitinga toch meedoen.
Onder 19 had zich zelf niet geplaatst en was dus afhankelijk van Ajax. Door het halen van de Youth League blijft Onder 19 de enige Nederlandse club die tot nu toe alle edities meedeed.
