Disappointment for the Welsh crowd in the opener as Michael Smith rounds off a 6-3 victory over Jonny Clayton to get his first points on the board in the 2023 Cazoo Premier League.

Michael Smith heeft zich ontdaan van Johnny Clayton. Tijdens de eerste wedstrijd op donderdagavond in de Premier League of Darts in Cardiff versloeg de wereldkampioen Clayton met 6-3.
Echt een spannende pot was het niet. Beide mannen stonden wel lekker te gooien, met een aantal hoge finishes: een keer 121 en 120. Nadat Smith op een 4-3-voorsprong kwam, was het gedaan. De wereldkampioen maakte geen fouten meer en versloeg Clayton in eigen huis met 6-3.
