Het jaar 2019 is pas net begonnen, maar we willen jullie al even waarschuwen voor een kleine ramp in 2022. Dan vindt het WK voetbal plaats in Qatar. Op een van de grootste sportevenementen van de wereld hoort natuurlijk een lekker biertje voor de fans. Maar dit wordt een heel duur geintje in Qatar.
Daar is namelijk in het nieuwe jaar een tax van 100 procent gegaan over alcoholische producten. Oftewel: alles is gewoon dubbel zo duur geworden! En bier was al niet echt super goedkoop in de golfstaat.
Bezorgde twitteraars rekenden al uit dat je nu voor een kratje Heineken (24 flesjes) 105 dollar moet betalen. Dat is omgerekend zo'n 91 euro!

The 2022 World Cup host Qatar introduced a 100% alcohol tax last night. Meaning the price of all beer, wine and spirits has now doubled. As a reference point, A 24 crate of beer will now cost in the region of £82.73 and can only be bought with a alcohol permit.
